Chongqing Jianzhu College is located in Chongqing, the most important city in Southwest China. Chongqing is one of the four municipalities directly under the Central Government in China. It is a famous mountain city, bridge capital and metropolis in China, surrounded by the beautiful Yangtze River and Jialing River.

The school was founded in 1956 and has a history of 65 years. It’s the only full-time higher educational institute of construction in Chongqing. The school adheres to the motto of “keep self-disciplinary, stay studious, remain practical and seek innovative”, and adheres to the concept of "integration of learning and learning, unity of knowledge and practice, cultivating architectural talents, and serving urban and rural development", fully demonstrating the characteristics of the urban and rural construction industry, and has trained more than 70,000 high-quality technical elites, management experts and operating backbones for society and construction industry. The college covers an area of 350,000 square meters, including 145,000 square meters of training venues; there are more than 150 experimental or training rooms, including 9 national and municipal key training bases, and more than 70 stable off-campus training and practice bases . The college has an advanced BIM center, VR center, and prefabricated building technology skill center for students to practice training.

The school currently has more than 9,600 students and 500 faculty members, including senior teachers accounted for 46%, more than double qualified teachers accounted for 92%. Teachers of professional courses have rich industry experience, including Grade 1 Registered Structural Engineer, Grade 1 Registered Constructor, registered cost engineer, registered consulting engineer, registered supervision engineer and other practicing qualification certificates.

The school has a reasonable professional structure. It has 45 majors and 7 majors (Construction Engineering Technology, Road and Bridge Engineering Technology, Building Electrical Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Management, Business Management, E-commerce (cross-border e-commerce direction), Landscape Design) are available for global enrollment. There is one national vocational colleges model major (transportation), two central financial support key construction majors, seven backbone majors in higher vocational colleges in Chongqing and nine college-level specialty majors. In the past three years, the school has won more than 200 awards in national, provincial and ministerial skill competitions, fully demonstrating the school-running characteristics of “promoting education by competition” and “promoting learning by competition”.

The school has strong technical service capabilities. It has two municipal science and technology innovation platforms: Chongqing Higher Vocational Technical College Prefabricated Building Application Technology Promotion Center and Mountain City Intelligent Road Inspection Chongqing University Engineering Center. The Chongqing Construction Industrialization Engineering Technology Research Center settled in the school and was selected as one of the first batch of prefabricated construction industry bases in Chongqing (training category). A number of influential achievements have been made in the field of prefabricated building, BIM technology application,VR technology and application, Sponge city, Road Bridge and Municipal Engineering, rail transit and had won a number of provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards, national patents, standards and construction methods. Carry out technical skills training for 15 projects including industry vocational certificates, special equipment, BIM,etc.The training scale reaches 14,000 person-time/year.

The school has rich experience in international exchanges and cooperation. Organized international cooperation in construction engineering technology with Gordon Institute of TAFE in Australia, initiated mutual recognition of credits with the New Zealand National Institute of Technology, and signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Holmesgland Government Institute of Technology in New Zealand and TAFE QUEENSLAND in Australia. In 2019, it began to recruit international students and trained a group of publicly-sponsored international students for the South African government.
