Ningxia University, founded in 1958, is a comprehensive university jointly run by the Ministry of Education of the PRC and the Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It is one of the state "first-class discipline" construction universities and one of the state "project 211" key universities. Ningxia University is located in Yinchuan, the capital city of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, a region with a long history and beautiful scenery. Ningxia University is one of the first universities approved by the Ministry of Education to accept foreign students. It is also authorized to accept foreign students awarded the Chinese Government Scholarship and Confucius Institute Scholarship. In addition, it is the only center for HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) in Ningxia. Since 1992 more than 3,000 overseas students have studied in Ningxia University from more than 40 countries such as Korea, the United States, Japan, Russia, Australia, Norway, Mexico, Sudan, Egypt, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan.
