World Federation of Intensive and Critical Care - WFICC
About the organization
The World Federation of Intensive and Critical Care (WFICC) was established in 1977 and is a membership organization comprised of national societies and Federations of intensive and critical care medicine.
The objective of the World Federation is to promote the highest standards of Intensive and Critical Care Medicine for all mankind, without discrimination. The WFSICCM now has a membership of over 85 national scientific societies with a combined individual membership of over 90,000 intensive and critical care practitioners throughout the world.
Governance is by an elected Council of 14 members who serve a term of office of 4 years with leadership provided by an Executive Committee comprised of the President, Secretary General and Treasurer. The support functions are provided by a Chief Executive Officer. Council would normally meet on two occasions each year but more regular discussions are held using on-line video conferencing.
The current Council has established the goal of ensuring our organisation is fit-for-purpose, modern and responsive. We are global, we are inclusive, we are diverse and our mission is founded on encouraging collaboration and cooperation between all those involved in the delivery of intensive and critical care medicine.
